CCTV Drain Survey

Understanding your pipework’s condition is an excellent way to ensure that your drainage system works as it should. The ideal quick, precise, and minimal-disruption way to make sure that your pipework is in good health is via a CCTV Sewer & drain survey.

Here at Greenday Environmental, we offer our clients quality CCTV drain survey services at affordable rates. Our team can give them reliable and documented insights into their drainage systems to identify and render any problems in a timely manner. We have over 32 years experience in the inspection of sewers, pipes, and ducts to identify defects and monitor the condition of the structures.

In the past, people used to conduct a large-scale excavation of their drains to find out this information. But, nowadays, thanks to the CCTV drainage survey, this task can be done at your fingertip. CCTV drainage surveys use cameras to inspect your drainage systems and sewers, allowing us to produce reports efficiently and without any disruptions to your home or commercial premises. Our CCTV survey division carries out a careful examination of underground drains, sewers, stormwater pipes and channels using specialized closed circuit television systems.

How do CCTV drain Surveys work?

A push-rod camera is inserted into a 100mm to 150mm pipe or drain to inspect the condition of the pipe work or to determine why a drain or why a pipe blocks up. For larger diameter pipe work, a robotic crawler camera is inserted into the drain or pipe. This will carry out surveys in diameters from 150mm to 1200mm. This provides an accurate recording of the internal pipe condition for inspection and resolution.

CCTV Drainage Surveys Equipment

A CCTV drainage survey includes placing a camera through a local manhole, rodding cap, or rodding eye,and pressing it through the pipe system to capture live images and videos of its inner mechanism. The camera’s journey through the drain, which can be handled manually or mechanically, will record the overall distance it’s travelled while capturing footage as it goes.

If the CCTV drainage engineer has any interesting findings, they will note the distance of the issue while the camera will take a still image. That way, the operator will have a clear reading of the issue, allowing them to formulate the most appropriate solution.

Once a client books an appointment, we send in our Drain survey specialist to survey their property with various tools and equipment, which typically include:

Cameras

Our top-of-the-line waterproof drain inspection cameras provide live images inside your draining system, allowing our experts a clear and precise view of areas that are otherwise difficult to see.

Access Rods

Flexible access rods are used to push and maneuver the camera around the drainage system, providing the operators access to even the tightest turns and corners.

Crawlers

Remote-controlled crawlers grant operators quick visual access to the current condition of the sewer system, offering excellent mobility.

Sonar

Solar units provide spectacular visibility of the conditions inside filled pipes, where visual access is otherwise impossible.
